The new Clipboard, in a minute.

Sound on. A dog loses its lawn, and your passwords stay where they belong.

Sorted for you

It knows what you copied.

Copy a hex code and it lands under Colors with a swatch. Copy a link and it goes to Links. A function, a SQL query or a terminal command goes to Code, set in a monospaced font. Images, files and plain text get shelves of their own.

There are no folders to set up and no rules to write. It sorts each copy the moment you make it.

  • Colours in HEX, RGB and HSL, shown as a swatch, with one-click copies in the other two formats.
  • Images show as a grid of thumbnails. Click one to copy it.
  • The app you copied from and when, on every row.

Search

Find it by the words inside the picture.

Every image you copy is read on your Mac with Apple's Vision text recognition. Search for a word that was in a screenshot and the screenshot comes up, next to the notes, links and code that match.

Press Return and the top result is on your clipboard. Need just the words from an image? One click copies its text.

  • Searches text, links, file names, the app you copied from and the text in images.
  • Text recognition runs on this Mac. Nothing is uploaded.

Boards

One board per project.

Make a board for a brand, a client or a launch, then drag clips onto it from the list. A board can hold colours, links, images and text all at once, so everything for a job is in one place.

Anything on a board is kept for as long as you like, however much you copy after it.

  • Up to 30 boards, with any clip on as many boards as you want.
  • Delete a board and its clips stay in your history.

Remove background

Cut out the subject in one click.

Hover a copied image and press the wand. NotchDodo lifts the person, pet or product off its background and puts the cut-out on your clipboard as a transparent PNG, ready to paste into Figma, Keynote or a message.

  • Uses Apple's on-device subject lifting, the same technology as Photos.
  • The original stays in your history next to the cut-out.

Moodboards

Paste ten references as one image.

Press Moodboard, pick the images in the order you want them, and NotchDodo lays them out in even rows on a white board with neat gutters. It lands on your clipboard as a single image, so a whole set of references pastes into Slack, Notion or an email in one go.

  • From 2 to 12 images, every row filled edge to edge.
  • The moodboard is kept in your history like any other image.

And the little things.

Secrets stay out

Card numbers, API keys, tokens, private keys and passwords are spotted as you copy them and never saved. So is anything copied from 1Password, Bitwarden, Keychain and other password managers.

βŒƒβŒ˜1 to βŒƒβŒ˜0

Paste any of your ten latest copies straight into the app you're in, without opening anything. Each row shows its shortcut.

βŒƒβŒ˜V opens it

Jump to the clipboard from the keyboard, type to search, press Return. Change the shortcut in Settings.

Pins

Keep your address, a stock reply or a deploy command at the top for good, up to 100 of them.

500 copies remembered

Text, links, colours, code and files, plus your latest 80 images, all kept between restarts.

Nothing leaves your Mac

Your history is stored in NotchDodo's folder on this Mac. No account, no cloud sync, no upload.

Pause any time

One button stops it keeping new copies, for a screen share or anything private.

Copy back in one click

Click a row and it's on your clipboard. The notch tucks away so you can paste.

Questions

Is this a separate app?

No. The clipboard manager is one of the eighteen tools inside NotchDodo, the app that turns your MacBook notch into a Dynamic Island. One purchase gets you all of them.

Where is my clipboard history stored?

In NotchDodo's folder in Application Support on your Mac. It is never uploaded and there is no cloud sync. Delete a clip, clear the history or pause it whenever you like.

Does it save passwords I copy?

No. Copies that password managers mark as private are skipped, anything copied from 1Password, Bitwarden, Keychain Access and other password managers is skipped, and by default NotchDodo also leaves out anything that looks like a card number, an API key, an access token, a private key or a generated password. The shield button in the header turns that last check off if you need it.

How do the βŒƒβŒ˜1 to βŒƒβŒ˜0 shortcuts paste?

They put the copy back on your clipboard and press ⌘V for you in the app in front. Pressing keys for you needs Accessibility permission. Without it, the shortcut still copies the item and you press ⌘V yourself.

How does background removal work?

It uses Apple's Vision framework, the same on-device subject lifting the Photos app uses. The cut-out is a transparent PNG kept in your history and copied straight to your clipboard. It works best on photos with a clear subject: people, pets and products.

Can it read text from screenshots?

Yes. Every copied image is read with Apple's text recognition on your Mac, so you can search for words inside it, and one click copies all of its text.

How is it different from Paste or Maccy?

Maccy is a free, open source list of recent copies. Paste is a subscription app with iCloud sync between Mac and iPhone. NotchDodo is a one-time purchase, keeps everything on one Mac, adds text search inside images, background removal and moodboards, and lives in the notch alongside seventeen other tools. If you need your clipboard on your iPhone, Paste is the better fit.

Does it work on a Mac without a notch?

Yes. macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple silicon. Macs without a notch get a simulated one.
