Changelog

What's new in NotchDodo

Every update, newest first. The latest version is 0.1.25, released 3 October 2026.

  1. 0.1.25

Opens from the very top edge

    • Fixed: pushing the pointer all the way to the top of the screen now opens the notch. The top row of pixels wasn't counted before, so it could take a few tries.
    • Fixed: the focus target row at the bottom of the Pomodoro is no longer cut off.
    • The trial chip in the header now counts in days and only shows up in a trial's last week.
  2. 0.1.24

    Clipboard history

    • New tool: Clipboard. Open the notch and see the last 20 things you copied, text, links, images and files. Click one and it's on your clipboard again, ready to paste.
    • Pin the snippets you paste every day, like your address, a canned reply or a terminal command, and they stay at the top for good.
    • Passwords copied from password managers are never kept, and everything stays on your Mac. Pause or clear it any time from the header.
  3. 0.1.23

    Focus sounds

    • Pick rain, café or white noise right in the Pomodoro. It starts with your focus block and fades out when the break begins, so there's no more hunting for a rain video before every session.
    • Pause the timer and the sound fades with it. Pick a sound between sessions and you hear a few seconds of it first.
    • The sounds are made on your Mac as they play, so there's nothing to download and no loop to notice. Volume sits right beside the picker, and in Settings, Focus.
  4. 0.1.22

    Menu Bar access that sticks

    • Fixed: after an update, Menu Bar could keep asking for Accessibility access even with the switch on. Allow Accessibility now clears the old entry and asks again, so one click fixes it.
  5. 0.1.21

    Dodo Run

    • A tiny game in the notch: help the dodo jump the cactuses. Press Space or click to jump, and it speeds up as you go.
    • Made for while Claude Code works. The moment Claude needs your approval, is waiting or finishes, the game pauses and the notch shows the alert instead.
    • Play any time from the new Dodo Run tool, or tap Play while you wait in AI Usage when an agent is running. Your best score is saved.
  6. 0.1.20

    Keyboard shortcuts for every tool

    • Give any tool its own shortcut, like ⌃⌥S for the Shelf or ⌃⌥A for AI Usage, and open it from anywhere without reaching for the notch.
    • Add one more for the notch itself. Press a shortcut again, or Esc, to close.
    • Set them in Settings, Shortcuts: click a box, press your keys. NotchDodo won't let two tools share one and tells you if another app already has it.
  7. 0.1.19

    Menu bar icons, found

    • A new Menu Bar tool finds the icons hiding behind the notch. It lists every menu bar icon, marks the hidden ones, and opens any of them with a click.
    • On macOS 27 it uses the system's own reveal button, then clicks the icon you picked, so its menu opens where you'd expect.
    • Support is easier to reach: the address is now in Settings, the menu bar menu (Email Support) and the licence screen.
  8. 0.1.18

    Support that reaches us

    • Fixed: email from the Support & Feedback page now goes to the inbox we actually read. Messages sent to the old address didn't arrive, so if you wrote to us and heard nothing, please send it again.
    • The Wrapped button in Screen Time is now a small gift icon, so the header no longer squeezes.
  9. 0.1.17

    Never miss an update

    • When a new version of NotchDodo is out, the notch flashes the version number and the Dashboard shows an Update button that downloads it.
    • Check for Updates in the menu bar now tells you what's new, or that you're up to date, instead of failing to install.
    • Dismiss the note and it stays away until the next version. Download the new version and drag it over the old one; your settings and data stay put.
  10. 0.1.16

    NotchDodo Wrapped

    • A weekly and monthly recap of how you worked: focus time, Pomodoro blocks, cursor distance, meetings joined, your top app and AI agent tokens, with a highlight like your most focused day.
    • Every Monday and on the 1st you get a notification when it's ready. Open it any time from the menu bar or the Wrapped button in Screen Time.
    • Share, save or copy the card in one click. Project names stay off it unless you add them.
    • Focus and meeting history starts with this update, so your first Wrapped covers part of the period.
  11. 0.1.15

    Dev Servers

    • A new tool lists every localhost server you're running, with its port, project folder and framework, like Next.js on 3000 or Vite on 5173.
    • Open one in your browser or stop it with one click. No more hunting down what's holding port 3000.
    • System services, ordinary apps and your coding agents' private helpers are left out, so stopping something never breaks a Claude session.
    • Add a Dev Servers tile to your Dashboard to keep them in view.
  12. 0.1.14

    Drop to convert

    • Hover an image on the Shelf and tap the wand to convert it to PNG or JPG, resize it to half size or 1920 px, or compress it for Slack and email.
    • Works with iPhone HEIC photos. The new file is saved next to the original and lands back on the Shelf, ready to drag. The original is never changed.
    • Photos come out the right way up, and converted copies leave out the original's location and camera details.
  13. 0.1.13

    Arrange your Dashboard

    • Choose which eight tiles your Dashboard shows, and in what order. Click the gear on the Dashboard, or open Settings, Dashboard.
    • Five new tiles to pick from: Music with playback controls, AI Usage, System (CPU, memory and battery), Shelf with files ready to drag, and Screen Time.
    • Fixed: the gear button in the notch now opens Settings every time. On recent macOS it could do nothing.
  14. 0.1.12

    Meeting heads-up

    • Five minutes before a meeting, the notch opens on it with the Join button for Zoom, Meet or Teams, then tucks away again after a few seconds.
    • It never steals your keyboard, stays closed while you're on a call or in a full-screen app, and skips meetings you've declined.
    • The meeting countdown in the notch now shows even while a Pomodoro or timer is running, and clicking it opens straight onto the meeting.
    • Pick 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes, or turn it off, in Settings under Meetings.
  15. 0.1.11

    Claude Code alerts

    • The notch shows the Claude mark and flashes when Claude Code needs your approval or is waiting for your next prompt, so you stop finding out ten minutes later.
    • A quick Done appears when Claude finishes a turn. The alert clears by itself once you answer.
    • Turn it on with the bell in AI Usage, or in Settings. It adds one small hook to Claude Code's settings file, and turning it off removes it. Nothing leaves your Mac.
  16. 0.1.10

    Screenshots on the Shelf

    • New screenshots and screen recordings land on the Shelf automatically, ready to drag into Slack, mail or a browser.
    • It follows whichever folder your screenshots save to and works in any language. Screenshots already in that folder are left alone.
    • Turn it off in Settings, under Shelf.
  17. 0.1.9

    Gemini CLI in AI Usage

    • AI Usage now tracks Gemini CLI alongside Claude Code and Codex: sessions, tokens and estimated cost at Google's list prices.
    • Gemini sessions count towards today's totals and the 7-day chart. The 5-hour window stays Claude Code and Codex only.
  18. 0.1.8

Stays out of the way on video calls

    • While another app is using your camera, hovering the notch won't open it and timers won't pop it open over your call. Click the notch to open it.
    • New setting: hide NotchDodo in full-screen apps. It's off by default.
  19. 0.1.7

    Save your cursor card

    • A download button next to share saves your cursor mileage card straight to Downloads.
    • The card now carries the NotchDodo logo.
    • The share sheet opens in front of the notch panel instead of behind it.
  20. 0.1.6

    Cursor mileage

    • The Dashboard shows how far your pointer has travelled today, in real metres, based on the physical size of your display.
    • Share a card with the number, the date and your last seven days.
    • Only a running total per day is stored. Where the pointer went is never recorded.
  21. 0.1.5

    Permission prompts, properly

    • The macOS prompts for Calendar, Reminders and Camera now appear in front of your other windows instead of behind them.
    • If macOS has already asked once, the button takes you straight to the right pane of System Settings.
  22. 0.1.4

Lock screen fixed, seven new toggles

    • The lock screen toggle works again on the latest macOS.
    • Seven new quick toggles: mute audio, sleep the display, hide desktop icons, show hidden files, auto-hide the Dock, eject all disks and screenshot to Desktop.
    • Choose which toggles appear on the Dashboard in Settings, under Toggles.
  23. 0.1.3

    Free trial keys online

    • Get a free 24-hour trial key at notchdodo.com/offer. No card and no account.
    • Activating a trial tells us one trial started, sending only the key id and app version. The privacy page explains it.
  24. 0.1.2

    Try before you buy

    • A 24-hour trial key unlocks everything. The clock starts when you activate it, not when it was sent.
    • While a trial runs, the panel shows how long is left and links straight to checkout.
    • Your licence key arrives by email the moment you pay.
  25. 0.1.1

    A Pomodoro that checks in

    • When a focus block ends, a notification asks whether to start your break or keep working. Answer right from the banner.
    • Every finished block shows as a marker, grouped in fours so you can see the long break coming.
    • Breaks never start on their own.
  26. 0.1.0

    NotchDodo is here

    • The first release: your MacBook notch becomes a Dynamic Island with 14 tools.
    • Dashboard, calendar with one-click meeting join, tasks, reminders, notes, Pomodoro and timers, AI Usage for Claude Code and Codex, calculator, music controls, a file shelf, screen time, system stats, a camera mirror and support.
    • Macs without a notch get a simulated one.

Updating: download the latest version above and drag it over the old one in Applications. Your settings, Shelf and history stay put.
